Springside Barn in East Earl Township, Lancaster County Pennsylvania
A fun Lancaster County Wedding at Spring Side Barn, surrounded by farmland near Shady Maple. The ceremony was outside in the garden facing the open fields. There was plenty of emotion and tears, the couples did a beautiful job at writing their own vows. The reception was held in the barn with a buffett dinner. The couple had a small cake and trays of various cupcakes. The father of the bride gave a great toast before dinner. Having the parents give speeches doesn’t work for everyone, but from the video side of things it is wonderful because it always gives me great extra material to work with. This is a longer highlight. From a marketing perspective I like the idea of cutting them shorter with only the absolute best shots but couples and their families and friends love seeing the full moments. I also think it helps to have the highlight a bit longer to tell the full story. I’ll post a short version soon. Thank you Paul and Ashley, it was great working with you and being a part of your day.
This couple was married on Saturday September 20, 2020 in Forest Hills Maryland. The wedding and reception were held at the farm at Stone Ridge Hollow. The couple got ready in the farmhouse with the bridal party, including drinks and mimosas. After a sweltering and humid summer, the couple and guests were fortunate to have an absolutely perfect day, with few clouds, no humidity and a cool breeze.
You turn the good times into great times.”
Stone Ridge Hollow features an original farmhouse, a large newly renovated barn with a barn and hangout area downstairs, and another bar in the back. Stone Ridge Hollow’s reception area is surrounded by old grain silos, two large ponds with a fountain, and spacious fields that go up the hill and are protected by woods. The area is very rural, quiet, and private despite being near to Baltimore, Washington D.C. and other cities, I spotted a herd of deer walking across the field while I was there. As the couple and bridal party got dressed and ready in the farmhouse, the guests gathered on the barns back patio. The couple were surrounded by family and close friends and large bridal party were happy to join in the celebration. The ceremony was held by the pond with a large and incredible trellis behind them. The guests were spaced out in chairs on the lawn as is normal now with covid weddings. The emotion of the moment was obvious on their faces as Allison walked down the aisle. They wrote their own vows which reflected their friendship and their common love of The Office with some excellent references to that amazing show.
“You are the Pam to my Jim, the Angela to my Dwight, and the Stanley to my Soft Pretzel.”
After the ceremony while the bridal party took photos by the pond the guests mingled with international hors d’oeuvres served by staff and drinks from an open bar on the patio. The party and family had a blast taking photos and then made their entrance to the large main room of the barn. They had their first dance and the bride danced with her father followed by speeches.
I love you more than words could ever say.
The dinner was a classy buffet with extra precautions for the coronavirus. The bridal party had a good crowd on the dance floor. As the night went on the party mostly moved to the bar downstairs where guests had drinks and took selfies and photos with an instant analog camera for the guestbook. Outside under the extra bright crescent moon next to an old grain silo there was a open camp fire with smores.
This wonderful couple went through the hardships of planning a wedding in 2020. They had a large wedding planned at a great venue in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. This was downsized to a micro wedding in their backyard in the summer of 2020 featuring their family and closest friends. Shem and Quiana were still able to pull off a beautiful and incredible wedding despite the restrictions imposed by the virus. The couple got ready in their own house surrounded by their close-knit families. You could see the joy and love for the couple as the family celebrated their day. The couple held their ceremony in their yard as the sun began setting, followed by a photoshoot including their beautiful blue Corvette. They had a buffet dinner including incredible Trinidadian food to celebrate Shem’s family and heritage. The dinner was followed by speeches and dancing. This wedding shows how despite the difficulties and challenges of planning a wedding in 2020 due to the coronavirus, couples can still have an incredible time. Wearing masks does not hamper the fun or excitement.
This wedding was great because it shows that you can still have a large, fun, and classy wedding in Pennsylvania even in the dead of winter. Mid November in Central Pennsylvania is cold and windy, but that didn’t stop this couple from celebrating in style. This couple was all about their family and friends. The Willows at Historic Strasburg is near a hotel where the grooms family prepped while the bridal party prepped at the venue itself in a comfortable room adjoining the hall. They opted to have a smaller, more intimate ceremony, the reception on the other hand was something completely different…
“Discovering that your love for one another at its best will never lose sight of, or be blotted out by the commonplace experiences of life.”
Fun Winter Wedding Reception
John and Christine, their families and friends had a large, very classy wedding that was a lot of fun with guests from all over. It included antipasta, a sit down dinner, an open bar and an after party. The party danced and went on into the night, despite the wind and cold they had a wonderful time. The Willows in Strasburg have a large convertible hall and this party needed all of it.
This couples wedding was at the Barrel House in Chambersburg, PA in Franklin County Pennsylvania is a beautiful and unique venue. The Barrel House has an industrial rustic style, and is right in the heart of downtown Chambersburg, PA. The large, brick, industrial building where barrels were once made now has multiple floors of luxurious accommodations and event space perfect for small weddings. The space includes multiple bedrooms and living space in the upper floors where they stayed and prepared for their wedding day. The relaxed and sunny vibe was perfect for this fun loving couple as they got ready and had plenty of time to set up.
Gun Themed Wedding
They added many of the unique firearms themed decor. There were many gun inspired touches and decor, the centerpieces included mixed brass shell casings. For the ceremony they had a custom metal handgun shaped piece that they both placed a lock on together. They also displayed a custom rifle created by the couple featuring their anniversary date. The ceremony was in the small outdoor space adjacent to the building. The weather was perfect, afterwards the couple and family took photos in the alleyway and garden.
Clear Night Reception
The reception was held on the patio area and in the kitchen and event space on the first floor of the Barrel House. They had emotional speeches from the bridal party that clearly showed how close this couple and their family and friends were. They were together for a long time and had an incredible story, this wedding day was a celebration of this relationship. They danced into the night outdoors under the stars.
This couple was married at Whispering Pines Estates in Lewisberry, PA in York County Pennsylvania. This was a special wedding because it was a blended family. The ceremony included their daughters in a unique way giving them necklaces and creating a custom made wood puzzle representing the different pieces of their new family. The whispering pine wedding venue was a comfortable and peaceful location. The couple prepared and got ready in the farm house. The ceremony was held outside by the pond and fountain. Afterwards they took the wedding photos around the farm property. They had a smoked barbecue buffet for the reception. The introductions included a racing finish.
“I promise to love you through the best and difficult times”
Pennsylvania Farm Wedding Ceremony & Reception
A unique touch was that the bride had written a song that was recorded especially for the couple and that started the dancing for the reception. After the cake cutting there was a roaring fire pit with smores for the guests to enjoy. The dancing went into the foggy night as the couple celebrated with their family and friends. This wedding shows how amazing a blended family wedding can be, and that a wedding means more than just two people coming together, it is a bigger and more important celebration representing the creation of something new.
“From the moment we met I knew there was something special”
York, PA Wedding Video
This couple had a beautiful wedding on the lovely grounds of the Stone Mill Inn in Hellam, York County, Pennsylvania. The Stone Mill Inn is an 18th century mill with 11 acres of landscaped grounds and buildings including a mansion. The couple prepped and got ready, the bridal party in the mansion and the groomsmen in the mill building. The weather was perfect, and the ceremony was held outdoors in the shaded, wooded location down a wide path from the mansion.
“I wouldn’t want to do my life with anyone else”
Outdoor Woodland Ceremony
Shade helped cool guests on the hot summer day. The ceremony was inspiring, the couple read their own vows with emotion adding a unique touch to the day, covering the story of their relationship and love. The party then took pictures on the grounds near the woods and fountain. The guests mingled in the outdoor pavilion adjacent to the mill. The couple had beer taps brought in for the guests to enjoy. The catered sit down meal was held inside the mill, followed by dancing after the sun set while other guests relaxed outside.
“keep choosing you in every moment”
“You’re my best friend and the love of my life”
Rustic Wedding Reception
This wedding had a rustic, classic Pennsylvania style. The couple have a wonderful story and their day showed it as their friends and family gathered to celebrate it. The grooms passion for baseball was shown in the custom signage and guest favors of cracker jacks and coke in glass bottles. The bride put her crafting skills to work, creating incredible cross stitch signs and many other things.
A classic church wedding and a country club reception. The wedding ceremony was held in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Mount Joy, PA. The church is a stone building with incredible stained glass windows. It was built in the 19th century and was a classic venue for a wedding ceremony. The couple wrote their own vows which gave it a personalized feel to the ceremony. They had a faux grand exit out of the church with bubbles onto the main street of Mount Joy, PA. Following the wedding ceremony the couple and wedding party took pictures near their home at the Lebanon-Elizabethtown Rail Trail on an old rail road bridge.
“I will always Love you.”
“You are everything I could have asked for.”
Lebanon County Reception
The reception started with a cocktail hour at the bar at the Lebanon Country Club. After guests entered the ball room for dinner there was speeches and dances. Outside there was a major rainstorm despite the excellent weather earlier in the day so everything timed out perfectly. The Lebanon Country Club was a great venue for the reception, and they served a buffet dinner. It was the first time I had seen a cookie table this far east in Pennsylvania! It is usually a tradition only observed in Pittsburgh weddings but Ben and Susan’s family had an impressive spread of cookies for their guests. Their cake featured a custom cake topper of their pets, a dog and cat. They have a mutual love of animals and each brought a pet into the relationship. After dinner the party danced for hours.
“I feel in my heart we will always be strong.”
Fun Wedding Exit
At the end of the reception they had a grand exit with sparklers, by that time the rain had stopped and the sky cleared up. It was a fun wedding to film, the couple was easy going and great to work with. They definitely seemed like a great fit for each other.
A well timed wedding ceremony in Maryland, and a classic barn reception in Pennsylvania. Garrett in Ericka celebrated their summer wedding across state lines. The couple got ready and took pictures at the historic civil war house. It was originally dates to 1740 and was used as a field hospital during the battle of Gettysburg in July 1863. The 87 acre Rock Creek Farm also features a large pond with a dock, and a 19th century barn where the reception was held. Their first look was in front of the stone farm house and they exchanged gifts and took pictures with the bridal party. The farm is on Taneytown Road, not far from the battlefield national park and town of Gettysburg.
Mason Dixon Wedding
The couple also wrote and recorded cards for each other which added a nice personalized aspect the the wedding video highlight. They also wrote their own vows, which is also a great addition of sound to work with in a wedding video. The wedding party drove over to their hometown of Emmittsburg across the Mason Dixon line in Maryland. Their wedding ceremony was held in the Elias Evangelical Lutheran Church. The congregation dates to 1757 and the building was built in 1797. The church is a beautiful stone building with stained glass windows. They had a live piano player for the ceremony. Soon after the ceremony a rain storm came through while everyone was inside, and by the time the ceremony was over it had mostly moved on.
“You’re my best friend”
Gettysburg Reception
When the bridal party and guests arrived at Rock Creek Farm the weather had cleared up and the air was cooler. The barn reception featured barbecue from a food truck caterer and included speeches, dances, a photo-booth, and the shoe game. The shoe game is played with the couple back to back and they hold a shoe from each of them in their hands and lift it to answer questions about themselves. They can’t see each other so the results were hilarious. Guests relaxed outside and played yard games and corn hole and walked around the large pond as the sun was setting. The couple had a country theme which fit perfectly with the barn and property.
“I stand here ready to take you as my wife, best friend, and lifelong partner”
“I think you are the most amazing person in this world”
An incredible summer wedding at the Herndon Camp Meeting in Herndon PA. This wedding was special because Kayla’s family has spent summers at the camp meeting for generations. The Herndon Camp Meeting is in the hills on the east bank of the susquehanna overlooking the river. It is surrounded by small farms. The camp itself is made up of small cottages built in the 1920’s, squeezed together in neat rows.
“You inspire me to live selflessly”
Tabernacle Wedding Ceremony
The couple had their first look outside the tabernacle where the ceremony was held. This wedding video also includes a great reaction from the father of the bride during their first look. The tabernacle seats a few hundred guests and was open to the outdoors, the slats covering the window openings were propped open giving the wedding ceremony an open airy feel. The groom surprised everyone with a custom song he wrote and recorded for the processional.
“You believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself”
Three Strand Cord
Their ceremony was unique and special with a three strand cord they wove together, built by the father of the bride and a time of prayer with their families. After the reception the guests relaxed by the dining hall where the reception was held.
“People do not live in isolation, their love is a source of strength which they may nourish not only each other, but also the world around them.”
Outdoors Themed Reception
The wedding reception featured speeches, a buffet dinner, and a trail mix bar guests could create their trail mix at. The bride and groom are avid hikers and the reception fit the theme of outdoors including topographic maps. The couple had taken photos in the grove but the photographer and I also took advantage of the spectacular summer sunset overlooking the farm fields. The getaway car was a golf cart used in the grove.
“I Do”
Custom Wedding Song
Having a custom song written and recorded by the groom really helped in creating the wedding highlight video. Choosing the right songs to use in editing the wedding video is one of the hardest things to do when finalizing a wedding highlight video. I was fortunate that the song was really well done and had the right tone for the video. It had a beautiful, building, soaring sound that works well for a highlight video. It also matched the theme of the wedding with a folksy-Ben Folds kind of song. Of course having custom lyrics to their specific story made it all the better. Every couple brings their own unique talents and style to a wedding and that is what makes it so special and interesting to film. Kayla and Michael were so nice to work with and the day was pleasant to film.
